Question:
What is the difference between “Original Specifications” and “Bare Walls” coverage?
Answer:
The difference lies in how much of your unit’s interior is covered by the Association.
-
Original Specifications: The Master Policy covers the building’s structure plus the interior finishes as they were originally installed by the developer (e.g., standard cabinets, flooring, and appliances). It does not cover any upgrades you or previous owners have made.
-
Bare Walls: The Master Policy stops at the “studs.” It covers the structural framing, drywall, and utility lines, but excludes all interior finishes, including flooring, cabinetry, countertops, and fixtures, regardless of whether they are original or upgraded.
